Illamasqua - Powder Blushers.

For my first post I have chosen to look at the Illamasqua Powder Blushes that have been hitting the Blogosphere by storm! I have these  in six different colours, these are Naked Rose, Hussy, Ambition, Lover, Katie and Tremble

Naked Rose, Hussy and Ambition

Naked Rose, Hussy, Ambition, Lover, Katie and Tremble.
When i first swatched these on my arm I thought that Hussy appeared too bright for my skin tone (which is a neutral-leaning-warm NC25 ish at the moment), however once I tested it on my cheeks - (with no foundation on - i was eager to try all the Illamasqua Powder Blushes i now own as soon as they arrived in the mail. No time for full makeup application and base prep with the excitement that arose from receiving these babies!) - I found that Hussy didnt look as bright (or, dare i say, garish) as id feared! When applied with a light hand it adds a pretty flush of colour.

The same type of thing happened with Ambition, when I first applied this, when doing the swatch it seemed far too purpley and too sparkley, however once again (with no foundation) I applied this to my cheeks and found that when I applied this thinly to my cheek bones, it looked better, it looked more natural, and seemed to enhance my cheek bones.

Lover was the peach one and I quite liked this from the start, it looks quite orangey on this photo (which has been taken in natural light).

Katie was an interesting colour in the images above it looks extremely pale almost too pale for anybody, and my opinion did not change when I applied this on its own to my cheek bones. However when I applied Katie with a Bronzer I found that it could be a colour that I would use and that it could  work better than I had originally planned it too.

I also found that I really liked Tremble and Naked Rose.

Until Next Time
